Hodan Hashi

Director of Communications

Hodan Hashi is the Director of Communications and Community Engagement at Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM), where she leads the development and execution of strategic communication, marketing, and member engagement initiatives to support AIM’s 3,400+ members and Massachusetts’ thriving business ecosystem. She brings expertise in strategic messaging, media relations, and creative digital solutions that drive business growth and foster social change. 

Prior to joining AIM, Hodan honed her communications skills in municipal government, serving as Communications Director for Boston City Council President Ruthzee Louijeune. She is the co-founder of Black Boston 2020, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing racial inequality in Boston. 

Outside of AIM, Hodan channels her passion for storytelling and creativity through photography, freelance writing, and her work as a board member at Artists for Humanity and New Leaders Council’s Boston Chapter. She aspires to establish a studio dedicated to empowering adolescents through art, storytelling, and media, giving them the tools to drive social change and amplify their voices. 

Hodan speaks fluent Somali and is a lifelong resident of the Mission Hill Neighborhood in Boston
