AIM members interested in participating in the “HireNow” program have until midnight, tonight to apply. Due to the popularity of pre-registered businesses the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development will close the program to companies not registered by 12:00pm Wednesday, April 20, 2022. This deadline was announced on April 20. AIM members can apply here using their EIN number.

The “HireNow” initiative is designed to ease the burden of private-sector hiring. Eligible employers will receive a $4,000 per employee grant (up to $400,000 per employer). The money can be used to cover recruitment, onboarding, and training costs, such as headhunter fees, signing and retention bonuses, tuition reimbursement, or other costs related to having internal teams train new employees.

New hires must be onboarded between March 23, 2022, through December 31, 2022, and retained for at least 60 days, be a Massachusetts resident working in Massachusetts, and work at least 30 hours per week for a salary between minimum wage ($14.25/hr) and $85,000 a year.

Members who have pre-registered will be able to go into the system and register their eligible new hires on Monday, April 25. AIM strongly encourages eligible employers to register their employees as soon as possible as funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
