AIM members have the rare opportunity this spring to hear from two of the most powerful women in Massachusetts – one from the public sector and the other from private enterprise.

Congresswoman Katherine Clark, the highest-ranking woman in the US House of Representatives, will keynote the 2024 AIM Annual Meeting on May 10 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Cambridge. Rep. Clark, who serves as Democratic Whip, will also accept the inaugural Francis Perkins award recognizing her efforts on behalf of working families in Massachusetts.

Meanwhile, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts CEO Sarah Iselin will keynote the March 14 AIM Executive Forum at Alkermes in Waltham. Sarah will discuss the opportunities and challenges of leading a large enterprise through a complex business and regulatory landscape.

The two women share long track records of success and a deep commitment to ensuring that the Massachusetts economy works for everyone.

Katherine Clark represents Massachusetts’ Fifth District, which stretches from the coastal communities of Revere and Winthrop through the northern Boston suburbs to the towns of MetroWest. Her public service has been fueled by a passion for lifting up women and families. Of interest to the business community, she has worked to end wage discrimination, to improve access to affordable child care; and to guarantee paid leave.

Before her election to Congress, Congresswoman Clark served in elected office as a state senator, state representative, and member of the Melrose School Committee. She also served as general counsel for the Massachusetts Office of Child Care Services and as policy chief for the Massachusetts Attorney General.

Sarah Iselin brings nearly 30 years of experience in health care strategy, policy, operations, finance, and philanthropy to Blue Cross. The company is one of the largest independent BCBS plans in the country with 3 million members and 20,000 employer customers.

Perhaps her most significant contributions to health care in Massachusetts came when she played a key role in the development of the “Roadmap to Coverage,” a multi-year initiative that contributed to the passage of Massachusetts’ landmark 2006 health reform law. Sarah served as the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation’s president from 2010 to 2012 and later served as the company’s chief strategy officer and senior vice president of strategy, policy, and community partnerships.
