Governor to Kick Off Massachusetts 250

Posted on September 15, 2024

On Tuesday, September 17, Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll will host a kick-off for Massachusetts 250, a statewide initiative to celebrate 250 years of America’s independence and Massachusetts’ revolutionary spirit. The celebration will feature a new MA250 banner that will hang outside of the State House during the event, a ride with Paul Revere and other historical reenactors, and a Fife and Drum Corps followed by a speaking program.

The Healey-Driscoll Administration will also announce funding being provided by the Massachusetts 250 Grant Program, which supports organizations developing projects that promote Massachusetts’ Revolutionary War history.

Massachusetts 250 is spearheaded by the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism within the Executive Office of Economic Development and will highlight often-told stories, like Paul Revere’s ride, while also uplifting underrepresented voices and untold stories through hundreds of events presented across the state. For more information, please visit massachusetts250.org and follow the campaign on Instagram, Facebook, and Threads.
