Scores of Massachusetts businesses were damaged or destroyed by the series of tornadoes that swept across western and central portions of the commonwealth Wednesday evening.
The federal government offers a variety of resources to companies harmed by tornadoes – ranging from disaster assistance loans to tax relief to guidance on managing employees following a disaster. Small Business Administration (SBA) loans are available for physical damage, economic injury and inventory replacement.
A complete list of government resources for employers may be found at:
http://www.disasterassistance.gov/disasterinformation/your-business-farm.shtm
Specific information about SBA loans may be found at:
http://www.fema.gov/assistance/process/sba_assistance.shtm
AIM member employers with questions about employee-relations issues in the wake of tornadoes may call the AIM Employer Hotline 1.800.470.6277.
AIM will add to the list of resources for employers as more information becomes available. We will post the resources on our Twitter account (@AIMBusinessnews) and our Facebook page.
