AIM to Honor Employer Resilience in New Program

Posted on July 24, 2020

Editor’s Note – John Regan is President and Chief Executive Officer of Associated Industries of Massachusetts.

I am pleased to share exciting news about the celebration of Massachusetts business that AIM has traditionally conducted at its annual meeting.

AIM rescheduled from May 22 to October 2 the 2020 annual meeting at which we would have presented two AIM Vision Awards and the John Gould Education and Workforce Training Award.

Given the continued uncertainty surrounding large gatherings, however, we have decided to replace the in-person annual meeting on October 2 with a newly created virtual gathering that will feature a 30-minute video production developed in collaboration with NBC Boston.

The video, called Honoring Resilience, will highlight AIM members for the unique roles they have played in creating economic and educational opportunity for the people of Massachusetts. There will be interviews of Board Chair Joanne Hilferty and me, messages from our key sponsors, and comments from member employers about the power of resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program will be hosted by NBC Boston anchor Michael Holley and broadcast across NBC 10, New England Cable News and over all of AIM’s communication channels. AIM will livestream the program on Friday, October 2 at 11 am. The Annual Meeting will also offer live, interactive elements for members of the 3,500 members of AIM.

NBC Boston and New England Cable News will rebroadcast the program on Sunday, October 4. NBC will also produce AIM promotional pieces for its Telemundo and NBC Sports Boston stations.

We hope you are as excited as we are about re-imagining the traditional AIM annual meeting. We believe that Honoring Resilience will allow us to make a compelling case of the positive role that employers have played in helping Massachusetts and the nation through an unprecedented series of events.

We look forward to providing registration details in August.

And a final note. Some 90 Massachusetts companies have stepped forward as sponsors of the AIM Annual Sponsorship Program, featuring the 2020 Annual Meeting, quarterly Executive Forums, and our annual fall regional celebrations.  Show your support for fellow AIM members by joining the growing list of sponsors.
