Ask the Helpline: Resources on Health, Wage Law

Posted on October 3, 2023

Question

I didn’t have the opportunity to attend last week’s Human Resource Roundtable on health care and the Massachusetts wage-and-hour law. Did the presenters provide any resources you could share with me?

Answer

The two roundtable guests Audrey Gasteier, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Health Connector, and Lauren Moran, the Chief of the Attorney General’s Fair Labor Division, provided a significant amount of information about their respective organizations and the web links on where to find the information.

We also had a presentation in September from representatives from the US Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) discussing a local emphasis program on the seafood industry.  They sent us several links on different OSHA programs that reach far beyond the seafood industry and that you may find useful as well. OSHA also hosts a safety roundtable which you may find helpful. See the OSHA section below for the roundtable link.

We’ve included all the information from the three presentations below.

We encourage members to bookmark this information as all the presenters made it clear that information on these websites is regularly updated. For example, in August the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Fair Labor Division published a new guidance on minimum wage and overtime regulations (second last item on the list above).
