Read MoreHarvard Pilgrim Health Care today unveiled a rewards program that will put cash into the pockets of subscribers who use low-cost, high-quality providers for medical diagnostic tests.
The program, called SaveOn, will give patients access to a clincial concierge to direct them to hospitals and medical facilities that charge modest prices for tests such as colonoscopies and mamograms. Patients who use those facilities will be eligible to receive between $10 and $50 from Harvard Pilgrim.
AIM applauds Harvard Pilgrim for its innovative approach to managing the cost of diagnostic imaging and testing.
“It’s another sign that the market is moving rapidly to address the health insurance cost crisis in Massachusetts,” said Richard C. Lord, President and Chief Executive Officer of AIM.
The program was outlined in detail in this morning’s Boston Globe.
