Beyond the key issues of health cost control, employment law, and taxation, AIM represents the interests of Massachusetts employers on more than 1,000 other state legislative issues, hundreds of federal issues, and scores of regulatory matters. The diversity of issues reflects the diversity of our members and the challenges they face.
The Courts
AIM has, in the past, filed amici curiae or friend of the court briefs for cases in front of the state appeals courts and the Supreme Judicial Court – even occasionally at the US Supreme court.
Cases can come from members, other business groups or member law firms and are considered based on their impact to our members and the general business community. We work very closely with the New England Legal Foundation and many of cases are field with their assistance.
Additionally, AIM has filed friend of court briefs on issues related to employment law, workers compensation, tax, environmental and energy issues.
